The Role of the Troon Community Council

Community Councils are voluntary bodies which exist within a statutory framework and which have been granted statutory rights of consultation. The general purpose of the Troon Community Council is to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the wider views of the entire community within its boundaries. Community Councils will seek to represent and include all sections of their communities, regardless of age, gender, ability, ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. They can complement the role of the local authority but are not part of local government.

Building stronger social connections

Organisations awarded share of £3.2 million fund.

More than 50 projects tackling social isolation and loneliness throughout Scotland have received a share of a new fund.

NODA will be back at Kilmarnock Train Station on 26th of August from 11am answering questions and challenging stigma and taboo surrounding death and dying.

Good Death, Good Grief/Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care.
The Scottish Government is developing a new strategy for palliative and end of life care.  As part of this work a Scottish Government Development Group facilitated by SPPC has been formed. The survey closes on August 11th.

Join us for a stroll along Prestwick Beach Promenade on Friday the 11th of august at 4pm. We will meet at the car of KidzPlay and make our way down the promenade and back up.
Come down and chat with us as we walk and we can put the world to rights all while breathing in the fresh sea air and marvelling at the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Everyone is welcome on our walks, Volunteers, friends, family, kids and dogs. So lets go for a walk…

Troon COMMUNITY COUNCIL VACANCIES
Troon Community Council currently has 1 vacancies.
Community Councils give local people a real say in matters such as local service delivery
and other issues which affect daily lives.
Community Councils have a local and statutory interest in the planning process. Local
Authorities are required to consult Community Councils on planning applications affecting
their areas.
Liquor licensing and some other licensing matters may also be of keen interest to
Community Councils and are areas on which Community Councils views might usefully be
sought.
Anyone resident within the area of Troon Community Council who is aged 16 years or over
who is interested in becoming a Community Councillor should contact the Secretary as
detailed below before 1st Sept 2023 for applications

 Recovery Festival – less than 6 weeks to go ! South Ayrshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership

Our second Recovery Festival is rapidly approaching and plans are coming together well. If you follow our Twitter account or the RecoveryAyr Facebook page you will hopefully have seen announcements on different people / organisations supporting the festival.

We have had over 350 advanced registrations so far from across the west coast of Scotland and the football tournament is now full (there are still spaces for Tug of War and Rounders if you would like to enter a team).

If you are planning to attend could we possibly ask you to register via the link below as this helps with planning for catering and transport.
