The Role of the Troon Community Council

Community Councils are voluntary bodies which exist within a statutory framework and which have been granted statutory rights of consultation. The general purpose of the Troon Community Council is to ascertain, co-ordinate and express the wider views of the entire community within its boundaries. Community Councils will seek to represent and include all sections of their communities, regardless of age, gender, ability, ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. They can complement the role of the local authority but are not part of local government.

UPDATE: COLLAPSED SEWER, BENTINCK DRIVE, TROON

I am writing with a further update for you on our ongoing works to address defects in the sewer running beneath Bentinck Drive in Troon, South Ayrshire.

After completing our emergency repairs between Dallas Place and Victoria Drive, we carried out further CCTV surveys of the egg brick pipe and have identified another section that requires attention.

Bentinck Drive will remain closed to through traffic between Dallas Place and Dallas Lane for up to eight weeks while we carry out the work. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

We are currently reviewing the results of the CCTV sewer survey in detail, however early indications suggest the pipe is generally in good condition. Should we find any major defects requiring urgent attention we will of course let you know and contact customers directly.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding while we complete this essential work.
